Janel Marr
Janel Marr is the Math/STEM Resource Teacher for the Hawaiʻi Department of Education in the Kailua-Kalaheo Complex Area, Windward District. Her expertise includes ethnomathematics (i.e., a real-world problem-solving that empowers students to be locally-minded, global citizens through a sense of purpose and a sense of place) and currently serves as an lecturer in the Ethnomathematics Graduate Certificate program at the College of Education at the University of Hawaii. Janel has a MEd in Curriculum Studies from the University of Hawaii. Her professional interest includes developing and delivering teacher professional learning in mathematics and STEM to enhance student success.
