Esmeralda Carini
Esmeralda Carini is the District Literacy Content Specialist for the Hawaii Department of Education in the Kailua Kalaheo Complex Area, Windward District. She has recently been awarded the 2018 Corwin Literacy Leader Award presented by the International Literacy Association (ILA) for the valuable contributions to literacy practices made in the field.
Esmeralda has a Ph.D. from the College of Education at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.
Her research interests include literacy leadership, formative literacy instruction, and teacher professional development design.
